A new hobby

I have been working on learning new things on Adobe Photoshop and trying out different ways to be creative. My best friend Betsy asked me to do her adorable little girl, Keira's birthday party invite. I was up for the challenge and I'm quite happy about how it turned out. Let me know what you think. Betsy, thanks for asking me to do that, I had a blast!

Easter Morning and Bunny Socks

Sorry for the millions of pictures but I was very proud of the presentation. I can't wait to be a mom and do this every year. Sascha was very sweet and added a little note to each basket. I think she's so sweet and thoughtful. It was a great morning and later we went to Sascha's ward (church) and had an amazing lesson in relief society. I'm so grateful for the Savior and for the atonement! Easter is the time to celebrate life and think about Jesus and it was great to do just that with my sisters. I love this gospel and I'm grateful for so many great traditions and the joy I have in my life!

Tah Dah!

So that is the end of my trip. It was so great! Sophie and I left the next day on Monday making a quick stop at the local grocery store to take one last look at the Easter Bunny they had for sale and then buying all the marked down Cadbury Mini Eggs from Easter for the trip. We drove home safely and it's crazy because now Sascha is moved back home for the semester. Sascha I love you and had a blast and it's great to have you home. Sophie thanks for coming!

Me with the adorable Easter bunny for sale. Found out I'm allergic :( and here you can enjoy my gross, traveling hair.

Caution, Easter Bunny Spoilers

Sascha is the custest little artist, all these nametags are made by her
Sophie and her cute little bunnies, baskets and easter eggs made all out of Rice Krispie treats.

So I had the chance to be the Easter bunny. I have now done this twice in my life and have even been able to choose my own socks the night before. I had so much fun this year getting stuff for my sisters. I think they are great and I really wanted to make it special!

Easter Eve - Tradition!

Let me just tell you about a little Draper family Tradition... Rice Krispie Treat Baskets!
This has always been so fun, we make a unique and personalized basket and then on the morning of easter we have an edible basket full of goodies!
So That same Saturday that we went to Idaho Falls we came home and made our baskets.

Here I am on the beginnings of a masterpiece

These two could be related. Look at that concentration
Sophie and Ian

Sascha, Kristy, Sophie and Ian Fun fun fun!

My Brilliant basket. Yes it's missing a middle but you are only allowed a certain amount of treats.

"I CAN'T TURN IT OFF!"

(day 3 continued - our lunch and walk down humiliating memory lane)

So I begin...
Many years ago in my life, I believe I was about 10 years of age, my family and I and a few of the Jarman kids went over to the happy land of Chuck-A-Rama. This is a rare opportunity in a family of 8 kids + guests to go out to eat. So let me just give you a brief explanation of this restaurant if you haven't had the pleasure to eat there. When you are little, and you walk into a room full of tables and tables of different kind of food, well, you are in heaven. Especially when you spot the all you can eat Ice Cream bar in the corner! After stuffing my face with mash potatoes, a variety of salads, meats, and rolls it is time to head over to paradise (aka the ice cream bar) At first I had one of my older siblings fill up a nice little cone of ice cream for me. Boy was it delicious! Then after building up courage and an appetite for more I decided I was capable enough to get another helping of ice cream. I pulled out the little kiddie cone (the size of a half slice of toast) Yanked on the lever and out came the ice cream. Bit by bit the cone filled to the top and more and more. Suddenly it was pouring over my cone gripping fist. The panic began and so did the screaming "I CAN'T TURN IT OFF! DADDY I CAN'T TURN IT OFF" Oh the eyes still boar into the back of my head this day! I think the whole restaurant could hear me screaming and crying. Luckily my brother came over and saved me, turned off the ice cream lever and we luckily had a bigger bowl to dump the now huge pile of ice cream into. So for years that has haunted me and I could never work in a McDonald's if I wanted to. But yes! On the trip to Idaho (ok and a handful of times before) I conquered my fears and successfully got my own ice cream with no mishaps. Thank you for tuning in. Don't mock me too badly ;)

The successful attempt, ok Sophie got this for me but that was out of laziness

and p.s... this is Sophie outside of the restaurant in 6 foot 9 inch, Ian's Jacket. What a Celestial Giant!

The Late Part one of day 3 - Ducks and Temple in Idaho Falls

I am quite behind...
So here's a quick run through.
We left in the morning heading out to Idaho Falls. First we made a stop at a little clothing store where Sascha wrestled with the idea of buying some long stylish boots - we talked her out of it.
Then we went to Kohls where we tried on makeup, perfume and walked around teaching a lesson of "Tacky? or not tacky?"
After that we were quite hungry so we headed over to Chuck-A-Rama (pictures and funny old Chuck-A-Rama story in later post) After eating our fill we went on a search for the temple. Finally after many U-turns and a quick detour to feed the ducks we found the temple and it was worth the wait. It was beautiful! We spent about an hour in the new visitor's center and we had the opportunity to watch several little videos containing testimonies of converts to the church. That was very neat and I quite enjoyed it.
By then it was dark outside, we took a few more pictures and headed home. What a fun night!

This is Donald

Would you believe me if I told you that this picture doesn't even show all the ducks around?

My new favorite pastime, chasing ducks (that should be a band name!)

Here we are upsetting the peace. Sascha looks distressed

Part Three Day 2 - Girls night

Ok and for the Final part of Day 2 you have girls just doing what girls do when they are bored. Crazy makeup , photo shoots, Ponds for the nose (because everybody loves them), crazy dancing, mud masks and cucumbers.

Sophie, you are such a good sport with my weird makeup and photo endeavors.

I love this picture of us girls, especially Sophie.
Does this really work? We did have a nice salad after

There you have it, the end of Day 2, and boy was it fun! You wish you were there.
